About us

Pippa’s Guardians is a family business run and is personally managed by Pippa Hughes and Ben Hughes, along with the help of Fiona Hinchliffe.

Pippa Hughes:

Pippa Hughes is married to Peter Hughes and their two sons were educated at UK boarding schools and they went to acquire good degrees from top universities. Pippa herself was a boarder and was appointed Head Girl of her school as an eighteen year old. For ten years Pippa was in charge of the care and welfare of over a hundred full time boarding children at The Elms School. Further to this, Pippa spent three years as a Registrar at Cheltenham College which involved managing the admissions of new students. In both schools, there were overseas students which gave her the inspiration to start Pippa’s Guardians in 1997 and Pippa has cared for over 300 students during this time.

Ben Hughes:

Ben Hughes is married to Louise Hughes and they have one child. Ben attended boarding school from the age of seven to eighteen. Ben then furthered his education at University, gaining a Behavioural Studies and Communications degree and has spent the last few years living and working in Melbourne, Australia. Since Ben’s return to the UK he has actively been involved in the management and development of Pippa’s Guardians and assists with the running of the business day to day. Ben’s wife Louise is a qualified Primary School teacher so between them they have a thorough understanding of the boarding school and education system.

Fiona Hinchliffe:

Fiona Hinchliffe has three children who were all educated in the independent sector and went on to acquire degrees. Fiona herself spent nine years in boarding school before obtaining an HND in Business Studies. She worked at The Elms School for ten years in an administrative capacity and more recently spent three years there as a Matron; this experience has given her a good understanding of boarding school life and what it takes to provide excellent guardianship services.
